Jim Popp
Jim Popp (born December 21, 1964 in Elkin, North Carolina) is the general manager of the Montreal Alouettes football club of the Canadian Football League (CFL).
One of the more successful general managers in CFL history, Popp has won four Grey Cups (1995 with the Baltimore Stallions; 2002, 2009, and 2010 with the Montreal Alouettes). He is under contract through the 2014 season.
He was named general manager of the Stallions in 1995, and followed the team to Montreal in 1996. He has also served two terms as the team's head coach. The first time, he took over after management (Popp, team president Larry Smith, and owner Robert Wetenhall) fired Rod Rust in the midst of a long losing streak during the 2001 season. The second time, he took over on October 4, 2006 following the resignation of Don Matthews and continued until after the 2007 season. [1]
